What's the max line for the coolant?

Got the car serviced yesterday from a local specialist, checked the coolant today and it's just filled to above the halfway seam level. I'd kept it between the 2 lines myself, so the garage will have topped it up right? (can't have come from anywhere else, although it is a hot day?!)

Have they put too much in is my question?

Mine has always been just above the seam level, and it runs quite happily. As long as there is air above the liquid level to cope with some expansion, I don't see it being a problem. And yes, the level does seem to vary a little between hot and cold. Make sure that the car is on a very level surface when checking the coolant level.

The max. line is just above the seam and the min. just below.
