Hello All,
Serviced the car today, (2006 2.0TDi BKD 140 with 63k miles), i done this by myself outside on the driveway. All went well apart from a couple of questions i have

Firstly when i took off the under tray of the engine i noticed there were a couple of pipes that had something that looked like oil build up around where they joined although the join didnt seem loose... I was told that that is probably the boost pipes and that oil does go to the turbo? (I thought i took a pics showing these but i dont think i have)

Secondly when i got the top off for the fuel filter (Diesel) i noticed the fuel was blueish and a bit cloudy... Upon replacing the fuel filter itself i noticed that this was black and there were small black particles in the fuel which i was wondering - is this right??
Service book says it hadn't had its fuel filter ever replaced and as it should be done at 60k i have just completed this but the old fuel filter was the same brand as the old oil filter, and neither of them had the VW/Audi logo on them as the genuine parts i replaced them with...

Finally the last thing... I heard resetting the DIS service reminder was as easy as pulling the right dash/clock stick for a few seconds... This has reset it to 900 miles or 700 and something days... Arnt services due every 2 years or 19k miles for long life? (I would do every year to be safe anyway)

Does anybody have any information about this?

Few random cleaned up pics after the service... Installed some Number Plate LEDs from Trups and they're spot on as continuously recommended on here :)

black fuel filter in a tdi is normal m8 nothing to worry about and boost pipes always leak you could try putting new seals in the boost pipes that may help.

Boost pipes arnt leaking too mucj just was wondering why there was a bit of old oil gunked around the join :)

some people put a jubilie clip on each side of the join and use tie wraps to clamp the seal together
