Exclamation Mileage difference from cluster to ECU

    Hi all
My manager has an audi a4 and just got a cable from the states.
i have done some mods and on auto scan it comes up the vin number and mileage ok as on dash.
now when I access the Application tab on VCDS. And read mileage from EcU it comes up nearly 10k more.
    From 73331 to 83kish.

does that mean it's been clocked ? I know it's 5% but that is more than 10% actually.

    Thanks for your help

"Understeer" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"Oversteer" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"Horsepower" is how fast you hit the fence.
"Torque" is how far you take the fence with you.

I've always seen slight differences on most cars i've worked on. some in the hundreds most in tens. Not as much as that though

When I read the ecu in vcds it comes up as mk and miles so there is no confusion of miles or km's

Mine is massively different too. I've been meaning to look into but I haven't been that concerned.

One reason is because when I scanned a neighbours car for fault codes there was one that had been logged with a date prior to when the car was built. It didn't give me a lot of confidence in the data in the ECU.

Its not hard to correct mileage in both ecu and clocks, maybe its had a replacement ecu in the past? Either that or whoever clocked it was just lazy. That mileage difference indicates either clocking or a previous failure for sure.

I've had my car since new so I can assure you it's not been clocked.

Where and how much would it cost to have e mileage corrected ?
We are not trying any illegal stuff to do just so both mileage add up.

So the ECU mileage is more accurate? Any way to calibrate the clocks to the ECU?

£70-150 depending on where you are based. type in mileage correction into google and a whole load will come up.
