Offset is far too low.... They'll rub more than a cheap masseuse and too wide to run spacers on them....

It will work but you'd have to run stupid amounts of that awful thing called stretch.

205 or maybe 215 tyres on an 8.5j et 35 looks ridiculous but it can work if you know what your doing.

If your not overly familiar with what fits what and how to get the right "fitment" then et45 is a safe one.

I got 225 40 18 on an 8.5J on et 45 and looks alright sits almost flush

/\ This. I ran 18"x 8J BBS CK's with 225/40/18's and the offset was only 1mm lower at ET44 (lowered on H&R's) and it used to rub every time I hit a little dip in the road or cornered the slightest bit hard. Yes ET35 may well 'just' fit, but it depends on whether you actually want to be able to drive your car or not. Running 205's to make it work will look very stretched and they won't help the handling one little bit, TBH.

Your second choice of 18" x 8J with 225/40/18 with offset ET45 will be perfect!

225 with rub I run 215/36/18 never had a problem with 8.5j wide
I'm now running 9.5j with 213/35/18 so still wide but still no rubbing
