Hi, I have got a Sportback 09 reg S3 (8P) and have had an issue with my xenon passenger side light. It came up on my dash that the main dipped beam was out. As it's not working, I bought a pair of new bulbs from Ebay and followed the guide on how to change them. Ive done everything but it's still not working. Just incase the bulb was faulty, I changed it again for the other and changed the driver side too. Still no luck. I have also noticed that there is a little moisture inside the light. I put this down to it not being in use for a while though. Any help would be appreciated!

FYI, these are the bulbs that I bought. They are both working on the driver side just not the passenger:

Thanks.

Did you check the fuse? Not sure if you have separate fuses for n/s and o/s

Any idea which fuse it would be? I will check it in the morning.

No sorry, should be on the inside of the fuseboard cover

I've just checked both the fuse boxes and also the instruction manual but it doesn't reference the headlights at all.

After a little more research (and checking fuses), I think it may be the ballast. I'm going to scan it with VCDS later to see what that throws up. Could anyone confirm if the ballast is easy to fit and if the part number is 8K0 941 597 for a 2009 car with DRL.

I've now been able to do a scan and it shows the following:

Any help on this would be really appreciated.

One last bump on this. Anyone with any ideas on the above?

Have you tried a continuity test of the wiring to the bulb connector? doing that may help isolate the source of the issue.

...or just take it into an Audi dealer to look at - they may be feeling generous & give you a free diagnostic.

Looking like the ballast - how about changing them over to see? They don't like condensation/water.

Thanks guys. I've ordered a ballast so will try that over the weekend to see if it works.

If not, in to Audi it goes :-(

Changed the Ballast and it's working again now. I was able to get in to it through the arch liner in the end so not a massive job :) Thanks for your help!
