Audi a3 2005 internal door lock switch not locking or unlocking drivers door?

Hi

Randomly this evening, my internal door lock/unlock switch has stopped locking/unlocking the drivers door.
The passenger side works fine, but the red light doesn't come on, obviously because the drivers door isn't locked.

Any ideas folks?

Could this just be the freezing temperatures?

Dodgy microswitch in the door lock maybe.
Does the drivers door show properly on the DIS.

Broken wire in the rubber boot connecting door to car?

Its intermittent.
If you use the switch inside the car, it sometimes locks the doors/sometimes one door, sometimes nothing.
This also affects the key locking the car, if you use the switch the key just dims the interior light and the doors dont lock at all!

If you leave that switch alone, the central locking works absolutely fine.

ideas???

Doors show open/closed in the DIS as they should do - No problems there

When the door is open play around with the boot and see if the DIS shows the door closed.
