Driving on the motorway last night car broken down lost speed and now turns over but noting is happing any ideas or help will be appreciated

My first thoughts would be a lack of fuel. Items to check would be the lift pump (Tandem pump) or the fuel filter, both in the engine compartment. Both are easy for a garage or DIY, to access and replace with new. A scan with VCDS is also recommended.
Yes MrLapou, I thought of that, but if he was blasting down the motorway, he would have been sensitive to what the fuel gauge was saying at the time. Let's see what reply we get.
