2010 s3 changing bulb colour bi xenons

Just wondering if people have changed the bulbs to something more like 6k. Only had the car a couple weeks but bothers me that and the Fogs. Also looks like a headlight out job as well!? Any help or pictures would be much appreciated.

    Cheers Conrad

Your S3 doesn't use D2S. I think a 2009-on will be D3S. (06-08 are D1S). The HID bulb has a square ignitor box on the base.

That's crazy money for those D2S bulbs on euro. Look on ebay, the aftermarket bulbs are fine and shouldn't cause any issues. I have some £12/pair D1S 5000k bukbs in mine atm. Or just keep your lights on at all times to try and age them they go darker

Fitting is tight for space but it should be possible through the wheel arch. If it's just a slight colour change I honestly wouldn't not bother with the faff, a higher K rated bulb will just put out less light too.

Well I'll need to check what bulbs they are doesn't say in the book as it says they need to be changed by a workshop! I'm really fussy with things like that has to be right. I've also seen these

obviously will need to be right fitment but a much better price and I've also had good experience with mtec bulbs. Waiting to hear from a forum member first though. Cheers for the help

How old is your car and how many miles is on it ?

Bulbs do get used, and it could be that yours are simply ready for a replacement. IMO the best color is the 4300-4500 kelvin. 6000 gets to blue and you loose some light with them as well

But that's the opposite of what he wants, he wants bluer lights, like an aged bulb.

It's a 2010. Cheers c_w i checked around the Headlights and they've got D3S bulb in you are right . I'll probably grab them and some mtec Fogs for the time being maybe put a hid kit in the Fogs later. Thanks again just waiting for trups to sort the plates bulbs now.
