    AUDI S3 8P 2006 - WHAT TO MOD NEXT?

    Hi all,

I've had my S3 just over 6 months now and absoloutley love it! I am running 19" BBS CK's on 225's with a full set of AP Coilovers dropped to a nice ride height. I am keen to mod a little further but dont know what to do next - filters, intake kit, exhaust?? Also my car is still under the 12 month warranty with Audi until April 2014 so will i invalidate the warranty by carrying out any new mods?

    Pics below for those interested!

Love the wheels any more pictures out in the open? Visual mods I would say: MY11 rear lights, MY11 Gloss B pillar, tints, dash of color to the calipers

Well i thought that but had it serviced recently along with MOT and another part which cost £500 under warranty with no bother!

i originally had it dropped to about 60mm all round however it was catching a lot more, think this was down to the width of the tyres - 225 instead of 215. so now i think its about 50mm, slightly higher at the back. PSI Tuning did it, great company, highly recommended them!

What Div Valve you running? I've seen the below one which doesn't replace the whole system? However my mate recommends a Forge one with a spacer to adjust the blow off sound?

    Black Optics Grill
    MY11 Black Pillars
    MY09/11 Rear lights

That will be the outside complete!

Car is transformed with a remap but do set aside or at least consider a clutch upgrade which will cost roughly £800-900 fitted.

the GFB one seems a cheaper option and does the same?

    Description below:

GFB’s DV+ solution couldn’t be simpler - keep what works and replace what doesn’t.

Worldwide Patent and Design Patent Pending

Retains the factory solenoid coil for seamless integration
Replaces plastic valve parts with metal for reliability and strength on chipped engines
Direct-fit replacement with GFB’s TMS benefits
Exclusive “pilot-actuated” valve mechanism for rapid response at high boost

GFB expands the DV+ range with a direct-fit solution for the weak factory diverter valve used on many European vehicles.

The solenoid coil itself from the factory-fitted valve is great (the ECU opens it faster than any pneumatic valve so why replace it?), but the weak point however is the valve mechanism itself. So GFB’s DV+ solves this problem by replacing just the valve parts with an anodised billet aluminium housing fitted with a brass piston machined to exacting tolerances.

The end result is sharper throttle response, lightning-fast valve actuation, and it will hold as much boost as you can throw at it. Read all about the DV+ story on the next page.

Other manufacturers’ products involve replacing the entire system with a traditional pneumatic valve, requiring long vacuum hose runs, additional parts for tapping into the intake manifold vacuum, plus either a different solenoid valve to actuate the pneumatic valve or a ballast resistor to plug into the OE wiring loom. All these additional items result in a product that is slower, less responsive, more expensive and takes much longer to install.

GFB’s DV+ solution on the other hand is more responsive, less expensive, easier to install, and doesn’t cause compressor surge/turbo flutter. Oh, and it doesn’t require different springs or frequent re-builds.

You'll be fed up with the blow off valve after 6 months, I know I was... MY11 lights would suit your colour of car lovely... MY11 B pillars are just the same except gloss black... I've left mine matt black because they are more subtle.. But might be a mod for me 2 eventually

Its not a BOV Jacko - thats the sh1t bit the makes it sounds like a Scooby.

The Forge DV is just far better and more reliable than the std DV. I ran mine on 2+ for 18 months and has zero issues.

any recommendations as to where i can get some MY11 rear lights from?

im thinking maybe in about 6 months i may look at going black all round:

    black grill
    black lip
    black b pillar
    black rims
    tints

anyone have any pics of something similar to hand?

Either the GFB or the Forge DV upgrade would be fine.

There is little to choose from apart from price.

Dump valves or spacers that make a whooshing noise are a waste of time and money, and on the reliability front, the Forge DV I've used has been on the car for near to 50 000 miles now, with no problems.

Next mods.....having done the suspension, brakes might be worthwhile, especially if you go for either an APR Stg3 kit,or something like mine,at some time in the future.

You haven't touched the engine or exhaust so that side is still under warranty, just not the suspension and wheels but that doesn't matter since you have changed it. So if you worried something might go wrong keep the modding to the power side down. I'd get the cosmetics like everyone else has mentioned done and then when the warranty is done go for power.

And what's the ride like on the ap coilovers?

Ride is ok to be fair, just avoid pot holes naturally as the noise is horrible - anyone know what helps "soften" this?

Smoked repeaters - cheap and will look good against the grey.
