    Some money to spend

Well looks like i have about 2k to spend on the S3 I want to get stage 2+ but obviously want the hardware modifications to suit this remap. My car already has a HPFP, Full Exhaust system with sports cats, and some form of remap. I was thinking of getting an ITG CAIS and the remap, and then maybe getting a new haldex controller and then getting a small ding repaired. Do i need anything like bigger injectors, or a better intercooler for the stage 2+ upgrades, and im still torn between revo or APR. Any help would be appreciated. cheers

Cai and intercooler don't think you need haldex controler at stage 2+ As far as I'm aware I'm on my way to the same route but with shark so stage 3, have you got a clutch yet? As you will need this and prob looking at £900 for clutch and flywheel Sachs and loba seem to be the best route , then fitting on top of that, I've also got myself new engine mounts aswell. I'll be well into next year before I get all mine done,

As above your going to need to consider a clutch sooner rather than later. Intercooler isnt a must but i'd personally go for one when i go 2+. No need for bigger injectors. Ive got the ITG and its really good, id also consider looking at the Revo one too.

You've already got a lot of what you'll need, but for Stg2+,you would need a good CAI.

As below, you don't need bigger inectors(not until you reach around 400bhp+,and that means a bigger turbo),and a big intercooler isn't really neccessary either, although it will help on hotter days or hard use.

Don't spend money on the Haldex controller until you've uprated the rest of the suspension first.
It makes a difference, but nowhere near as much as uprated ARBs and coilovers.

I don't think there's much to be had from one software company over another right now,and Shark,Revo,APR etc all make good products.
FWIW,I chose Revo, and have had no problems either with the product,or the backup.

I'd get the intake of your choice. Intercooler and then a custom map at r-tech. Then if yours is a manual uprated clutch or if DSG get that mapped while at r-tech.

    Then get water meth!

    Very sensible advice.

If you have the suspension and brakes sorted, you can make far better use of the performance, than with an ill-handling car on wobbly suspension with poor brakes.

Yeah im going to do the suspension and brakes shortly after i get the remap, Just a quick question with the ITG filter, can i put my engine cover back on, or will it have to be left off? Are there any decent CAIS that dont need the engine cover leaving off

You can adapt some engine covers to fit with a CAI in place, like the TT cover, but the CAI will be visible,as the intake trunking is an integral part of the stock cover.

I was thinking about upgrading my brakes but changed my mind, now im thinking about it again. The pads and disks are on the way out, and will need changing shortly. What does everyone think about the brake choices, should i go for tt rs brakes, upgrade the disks and stick some fedorro pads in, or get some aftermarket brakes, i could maybe stretch to 3k if i spread out my purchases until january.

The standard brakes are good enough IMO for right up to stage 2+

Some peoples opinions differ but I wouldn't be looking at brakes first off.

I know its a gamble with clutches and remaps, and it is different for every car, but my car only has 22k on the clock, was hoping the clutch could handle 340 ish bhp for a while before slipping, but i supose i should probably put some money aside for it.

I opted for some new OEM disks and a set of Ferrodo DS2500 pads.

This has been helpful I can't justify big brakes after a lot of thinking so I'm keeping the s3 brakes and was just going to upgrade pads maybe disks and fluid and see how I get on with them mine are fine at the moment stage 1 map but I think stage 2+ Will see me needing to replace them but I don't drive that hard anyways so standard setup might be fine

What do you lot think are the best brake disks to get for the standard set up, just go for OEM ones, or get some grooved ones?
