Recently changed from a diesel Alfa to a petrol a3

im quite a bit, from a petrol station an when the needle is on empty on my 2.0 alpha I could go 25 miles to work an back an be ok.

once the needle is on rock bottom on my a3 1.6 petrol, any ideas how many miles of town driving I should be ok with? Due to my start an finish times at work getting a garage open can be a pain at times.

Honest opinion mate, just put some fuel in. I know it sounds stupid, but it's just going to drag all the crap out of the bottom of your tank if you run it so low.

Just my 2p's worth. :)

Although my old Almera did 50 miles with the pin bottomed and didnt run out. Had to change filter after thou cos it dragged a bit of **** in

my needle goes below the EMPTY red marker, and iv drove 10 miles to the shellgarage, when says 5 or less miles left! (always running for the 99) lol

Had mine showing just 5 miles to go today when I coasted into the garage.

The tank took 53.8 litres.

...don't think I'd want to try and 'improve' on that! :ninja:

I've done 10 miles on "empty". I just got to a petrol station in time.

I look for a fuel station immediately if the light comes on.
I feel anything under 1/4 of a tanks empty.

Realistically probably 10 miles left when it says 0
