Winter tyres and higher pressure

Just put the newly bought Mich Alpin mud+snow tyres (225/45 17 XL) on my 2009 2.0TFSi Quattro S-Tronic .
For 3 passengers, door label states 42 front and 38 rear psi ...
Will keep an eye on tyre wear and fuel consumption.
