Car (2004 2.0TDi DSG) just had its first service @ 12300 miles; 2 years old...Cost £248.00 .
Mentioned a small knocking noise from rear.
Told, needs new rear shocks. "Not a common item that normally fails", but then they would say that as they did about the DSG loosing drive and the intercooler pipe clips.....
At least it's under warranty and no real big deal....
Cannot fault the Audi garages' service and efficiency....it was spot on.

The face lifted 6k mile 1.6 base A3 on Mich Primacy 206 55 R16 tyred loan car had the worst steering I have ever driven. Over 100 metre or so periods, it keep weaving to one side or the other on the Mway and had to be constantly corrected. Steering had a dead feeling in the centre position...

they probably did it as a preventative measure, there's documented problems on here with the 8P rear suspension.

yep had mine changed after a 100 or so miles on the clock !

Not a common fault LOL !!
