Hit Wing Mirror

Some idiots obviously got to close to my car today and hit my wing mirror.
It's not looking too damaged from what I can see, as the glass is in tact and casing not cracked,
but the wing mirror casing has separated and mirror come unattached.

Anyone got a Haynes Manual or diagram for how the casing fits back together as the black base has come unclipped from the painted surround. Its for a 2006 A3 Sportback S-Line.

George, the Haynes manual gives a little information, and poor photos. Basically, if the glass is out, then disconnect the wiring if it is a heated mirror. Undo the two screws underneath the mirror and unclip the lower trim panel. Then you should be able to unclip the mirror housing. This should allow you to see how it all fits together, and if there is any damage to the clips etc. Reassemble in reverse, and finally connect the heater and carefully push the glass back into place.
