Hi all

My battery in my A3 is completely dead. Cars been parked up for a few weeks. Didnt start with jump leads so thinking of removing battery and charging inside.

Just wondering if il need a code for the audi sat nav unit?

Thanks

Ps. Anyone know how to remove the battery? Im clueless

If original RNS-E, the car will remember the code.

Take the top cover off the battery and undo the terminals. Look down the left side of the battery and you will see a 13mm bolt holding a clamp on the bottom of the battery. You'll need a ratchet and long extension to reach it. Remove bolt and clamp and lift out the battery.

you battery may need abit of mineral water to top it up, or if you been driving it with no water its probably damaged beyond repair now jus check if the water level is low on it if it is just top it up with abit of mineral water and try it then, the sat nav code should be inside your service booklet

Cheers guys. Will do that tomorrow. Parked up for four weeks eventhough i started it every other day. Hope i dont need a new battery

Starting it every other day is probably what flattened it. It would need a run of 10 minutes or more to put back in what you took out!

And you can't top up most modern batteries,,,,

Ohhhh lol. Thanks for that - will have to be real careful in future
