No cruise control leads to no power steering

Ok so only had my audi for 3 weeks. When I got the car the cruise control wasn't working so it was booked in with the dealer (not audi) to have sorted on Monday. They had it half the day and got it down to being the stalk has gone faulty. Gone back in today to have the the stalk replaced only to be left with a car with no cruise control and no power steering.
So been told when they put the stalk in to pair up with the car, the stalk wouldn't pair up which then lead to the power steering to stop working.
So they kept the car in and working on it tomorrow.

    Any ideas?

Sounds like they have either altered the coding within the Steering Control unit or they've not carried out the basic settings which tells the Steering ECU the steering lock stops reading.

It is very easy to miss something on the coding and for it to disable the PAS, though I wouldn't have thought a simple column switch replacement would require the coding adjusted.

They took it to a local garage which apparently has some vagcom like equipment.

They've had the car all day and apparently taken to another specialist.
Whatever they have done they have really must of screwed it up.
So I am still stuck in Leeds at my in-laws (I live in hull)
I have to cancel some appointments I had this week, but the worse thing is my daughter is going to miss the Halloween party.

Just off the phone with the dealer. Car only half done. Something with the angle sensor. So another day with them having the car. Told my daughter she can't go to the Halloween party so now have to deal with a upset screaming 5 year old.

I have no idea. I'm only relaying what I have been told. It's still with the dealer. I've not been in the car since Monday.

If they were just changing the stalk then they don't need to touch the coding as they aren't retrofitting it, it's a 15 minute physical swap only. They've obviously managed to break something (probably steering angle related) and don't know how to fix it.

You have to remove the steering module from under the wheel with the angle sensor to change the stalk so it's definetly something they've done.

Just got the car back after 4 days.
    Work done consists of;
Reset coding sand basis settings of traction sensors, steering sensors and column module.
    Reactivate cruise control.

Just realised when pulling up at home the rear wiper arm is not working

they have a probably deactivated the rear wiper by mistake, just code again under steering module 16.
