Does this mostly everytime i drive it. If you turn the car off and start it again it goes back to normal idle or sometimes if you rev the car it drops back down. Anyone know the reason or solution for this?

I got the heater on full in this video but it does it when nothings on. Just to clear that up.

WOOOAH, it starts going crazy half way through.

i think you got gremlins pulling on accelerator in there mate.

Is it a 170 with a DPF? Engines with a DPF rev higher on their own when regenerating

Its only the first seconds of the video i'm talking about haha. Its a 140 no DPF.

Hmm. When I had my A3 140 I had to get the intake manifold flap replaced.

It wasn't causing this issue, it just threw up an error, but I suppose it could cause these sorts of symptoms. It's a common fault

I had this on my 140bkd clean everything out all the intercooler pipes and intercooler intake manifold even the intake holes on the head also fit a catch can or block off the ccv that goes in to the air intake

also I did change injectors and that help massively with some little problem I had I think changing injectors after 80-90k should be done on these bkds
