18x8.5 Wheels ET20, will they fit?

Will a set of 18x8.5 wheels (ET40) with a 20mm adapter (making them ET20) fit my A3?? I dont mind a bit of poke on the rear as they will have stretched tyres anyway.

Offset of 20 would be too low and stick out way too much.

I'm not sure 8.5J ET40 would fit, never mind ET20.
For me it's 8j ET50 all day. But then again, I'm old.

yeah they would fit, but be illegal.... Too much poke by 3mm...

i'm with you on the old 8js... Just took 19's 8.5j off mine and put 18 7.5js back on
