looking at buying an a3 2009 front end smash the only thing is changing the dash and airbags can anyone give me some advice and how easy it is and the time is should take me.

At a guess, a days labour and vcds?
Worst i ever did was a citroen zx with aircon. took about 10 hours altogether.

Well 1st scan with vcds & see what system show issues & then work from there with each system.

Dash isn't a fun job, but you'll have to strip out everything in front of it 1st.

My mechanic told me that the dash is held together with eight bolts.
Steering wheel and centre console has to be removed first before you
Can gain access. Its not too hard.
Then once you bought the airbags you need to get someone to clear the crash data from the airbag module.
You need to replace the front seat belts if the tensioner has collapsed.

I know some one in London who can do this without removing the module.

You don't need to remove the dash to get to the airbag module anyway, just the center console. as its hidden behind & below the climate unit, pita to get too but can be removed nonetheless.

modules can be reset and crash data cleared diagnosticly.
Haynes manual normally does a good write up on dash removal.
