I've only just noticed that the reserve light starts out dim and gradually increases to full brightness over the course of about 3-4 seconds. Any ideas why? I suppose it saves the bulb - like some electronic dimmers do in the house, and is called a soft start, I think. The bulb is eventually bright enough to see what's behind you, which is great.

Sorry, my brain went to sleep without me this evening! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif

Yes, reverse.

Not noticed that TBH, but with DSG it doesn't come on for the first second or so, to stop it coming on if you are shifting to park.....

Nice touch. You see a lot of autos flick the reverse lights on when heading for park.

And a bit disconcerting when your right behind them at the traffic lights!
