iphone wont play in aux? (gtfih)

car got aux fitted to it before i bought it.
you plug iphone/ipod in and press cd twice and it plays your ipod music.
my phone doesnt work iphone 4 but my mates iphone 4 does ?
also my ipod works and so does my other mates iphone 4s.
theres no software to download on my phone its fully up to date . what can it be ??

Headphone jack faulty?

Do a restore of iphone via iTunes & see if this helps incase its a software glitch.

no its actually ipod connection from the same place you charge it not the headphone hole.
annoying cause everyones elses phones work but not mine aha, ill do the itunes thing you said and report back thanks man

Try your phone in a dock aswell if mates have one, so then it can be dismissed as a handset fault, after software reflash.

Does your iphone output music when you connect it to headphones?speakers via aux?

Don't know if this will make any difference but on my iPhone (5).. I wasn't getting any sound from videos etc.. It is because I keep my phone on vibrate, if you are like me and hate your phone sounds then this may be the fault so switch sound on. Just a thought.
