Hi

I have a 2.0 TDI 2004 and had it roughly for about a month now. Cars been all good since until yesterday night the pick up felt REALLY slow. Normally when I put my foot down the car responds fast but last night my foot was all the way down and to hit hit took some time.

Does anyone know what the problem can be?

Apparently the most common cause is due to the MAF. I've bought a replacement and need to fit it on. Is it necessary to dc the battery first?

If i were to dc the battery and reconnect it would it reset the car stereo and would I need a code to get it back to normal?

One should not need to disconnect the battery to change the MAF. Just make sure you unplug the MAF before trying to replace it. Plug back in when finished. Good luck.

why didnt you get it scanned for codes ?
or unplug the maf and drive it if it drives better then its prob the maf
also did you get the OEM maf ?

I'm finding it so hard to remove the sensor off the MAF. How the hell are u meant to do this.

Scan it with VCDS for error codes.
