Aux-in issue (Factory fitted)

Hi there, I've got a 2008 A3 with a factory fitted aux-in port in the centre console. I can't get the radio (Audi symphony II+ / 6 CD changer) to switch to the aux input / detect theres something playing. Tried using both my Ipod and phone to play music via a tested 3.5mm jack cable.


I'm following the manual's instructions to turn on radio, switch to tuner, connect device via cable, then repeatedly press the 'CD' button to switch to aux.


Any ideas how to get it working?

Tried

• Turning up the volume on the ipod/phone to max.
• All different combinations of turning on the system and playing music and pressing the cd button.

Make sure the connector is fully pushed in as some don't realise it needs an extra shunt.

Yep, its totally flush with the socket.
