    Are there any DPF issues on the 2.0 140bhp engine?

    Had my 2.0 140 CR(Eng code CBAB) for 2 years now no issues with DPF so far
    58reg 2.0tdi 140(WAS) S-line Monza Silver withSUPERCHIP BLUEFIN
    S3 front grill/gloss fog light surrounds/rnse/gloss gunmetal wheels/EZ front spliter

    I know my car is the common rail spec from the year of the car also the engine code is printed a the sticker either on boot floor or the service book on the inside of the front cover 4 letters next to the number 3 on the left.

    Issues depend on driving style and journey length I think every car will have issues if they don't have the correct conditions to regenerate properly.

    Are you talking about the PD or CR version? The 140PD has no DPF.

    I have no idea, I'm just looking at getting a new A3 as my 53 (8P) seems to developing every fault going lately. I was looking at a Mazda 3 Sport 2.2d but then I read about DPF issues and I thought I'd check to see if other engines suffer.

    Is it a lottery whether it's PD or CR or is an age thing? I was looking for a post 58 plate, for the face lift.

    Danny is right...the PD140 had no DPF unless it was specified on manufacture. The CR140 however have them fitted as standard I believe, but are not dogged with problems like the 170 version.

    2008 was the swap year from the PD to the CR spec engines with the facelift cars from then onwards DPF's were fitted to all,on the PD spec only the 170 and DPF with have caused issues for some. I've yet to see my DPF light come on if it has one at all.
