Rear wheel bearing replacement? Talk to me!

I have a 55 plate (facelift) a3 1.6 FSI, the wheel bearings have gone so I went euro and got the whole hub with the bearings etc, but I just want to know how hard/easy it is?

Any tips?

Do I need to remove the big multi spline in the middle of the hub?

Any help would be great as I am attempting it tomorrow!

remove caliper and pads
remove discs
undo centre nut and remove hub assy
sorry cant remember torque setting for centre nut

Is the multi spline a M16 or M18? I have just found a M16 spline bit which fits OK but not great, but I reckon I'll be able to get it off with a M16 spline bit?

Make sure you have the correct spline socket - it has to be spot on otherwise it will slip and round off due to the amount of torque you are going to have to use to undo it.

Ok mate no problem ill go buy one today.

Could anyone tell me what torque settin the bolt is? My car is a 1.6 fsi 55 plate if that helps?
