Halfords HID style bulbs

Hi all
I have just bought some halfords hid style bulbs as they have been Reduced from 20 to £10 got them home and realised they say off road use only (face palm) has anyone used these on there audi a3? also if I install will I get any errors? Thanks

I'm not sure about any errors coming up, but they state they're for offroad use only as they're 100w. 100w aren't legal for road use apparently.
 
Up to and including 55w are legal for road use IIRC.

Some people do have 100w bulbs in there headlights with no problems, but there has been some people that have encountered problems with melting/burning etc.
 
100w bulbs will more than likely melt your wiring, reflectors & casing

And also blind other road users as why they are for off-road use

I use 100w for full beam as they can blind other people in the main beam. If you want a HID look headlight I would go for the Phillips diamond vision 55w bulbs.
