As title really, I'm going to wrap my car white myself, but I have a choice of matte, metallic or gloss white?

Going to get the wheels refurbished white also so that baring in mind, gloss white wheels with a matt white car would look odd.

Opinions please?

Please don't get white wheels! horrible in my opinion.

Go gun metal grey wheels, gloss white wrap.

I wouldnt get gloss if i was you, after seeing gloss wraps in the sun it looks like the car has real bad orange peel.

Id go satin or matte

go matt

the met white is for girls
and dont go white on the wheels

mjr901, I've seen that TTRS before as Regal are near me and I've got them on Facebook, had my old car rolling roaded there, but never thought to so that combination, defiantly has changed my mind to matte yellow but with gun metal grey wheels. Annoying thing is I bought GMG to begin with but they'd sold out so opted for silver as I'm not a fan of black wheels.

Ive heard matte can be harder to wrap as if you heat it too long the flat finish is sometimes lost and goes shiny.

That Matt Grey looks awesome, thinking of getting mine wrapped. How's the quality of the wrap they use? Does it easily peel? Susceptible to stone chips etc?

Matt grey does look very good IMO...Sorry to hijack but does anybody know how much vinyl you could need to buy to wrap a car? (A3 3 door)

Definitely want to see some pictures of DIY wraps! Hope all goes well fella! When you doing it?

Don't you worry, there will be plenty of photos when I am finished. Thanks mate, I'm not too sure yet, need to make my mind up on my colour combination first. A member on here has sent me a link to Hexis website and have a massive range of colours and effects with a 10 year vinyl life unlike the 4 year stuff I was looking at on eBay. So my supplier is sorted, just need to make a decision on colour.

I agree with what Bez said about metallic white, it does kind of look girly. However leaning towards matte yellow and GMG wheels.

I've not a clue about the quality as I haven't seen it yet. However the stuff I am looking at is 10 year vinyl, they claim it is easily removed if you wanted with no glue residue and as for stone chips I think it is quite hard wearing however you can buy a protective film which is basically a laminate to protect it, however I am going for a matte finish and a laminate on top will make it look glossy?

I did originally want to get the car sprayed grey, however wrapping has opened my eyes to a new kettle of fish. If I was to buy a new car it would be grey without a doubt, however wrapping has different possibilities. As for how much you need I think.. 1 roll of 1.52m x 30m is enough to do a full car.

I am thinking of the idea of black carbon wrap on the roof with mirrors and black trims such as fog surrounds and rear S3 splitter (when it arrives) with a matte yellow body?

I came into the thread, read the first post and then knew exactly what colour I would have mine done if I ever did go that route as I saw it on a car on a friends facebook - it was on the rico rally.

Congratulations mate - you posted the exact car and colour I was thinking about lol :)

Oh God, stop it you lot! This is too much like porn!!

A want that awesome blue!! Never ever thought about wrap aswell ! Ha

Blue wrap looks immense.

Just a tip - get the wrap done at a reputable place if not doing yourself. Sometimes they can scratch through the paint when trimming if they're not careful. You wouldn't know unless you remove the wrap.

It used to be white! Lovely colour.

Actually liking the colour of that golf. Not something I'd do my A3 in tho.

And £800 for a full wrap is good! If I could find the same price down south I wouldn't bother doing it myself.
