So it appears that both my power windows have failed (with the windows all the way down). The car is safely in my lock up, but I need to use it.

I know there is a fuse box at the top right of the engine bay (as you look at it) and the main one which is probably where it is is in the dash where the driver door opens.

Does anyone know which one is specifically the electric window fuse(s) so I don't have to check them all?

Also what kind of fuse and rating they are so I can go and buy one?

Many Thanks :)

I would check the following fuses in the in-car fusebox. F28 (Sportback rear windows), F23 and F38. All seem to be associated with door-card controllers, and all are 30 amp rating. Rather suspicious that both sides have stopped, since there does not seem to be a 'master' fuse for windows. If any are blown, it could be because of a serious short-circuit. 30 amp fuses do not blow easily. Anyway, worth checking them. Suggest you update your profile to indicate if you have a 3 or 5 door A3.
