Will this work in an 06 S-line TDI, i understand i may need to change the steering ecu, just wondered if the actual wheel is compatible

Depends on your current wheel/airbag, you need to undo yours & look for the same 2 studs/risers in your current wheel base.

If you've got an A3 3 spoke wheel with a shield shape airbag then it should fit perfectly with that wheel as it is an 8P0 part number.
