    Fitted my Autotech internals!

    Just thought I'd post up about fitting my internals, just need a bit of info.
    I fitted them on Friday and did the full pump strip an clean as autotech recommend and now it's all back together it seems louder, the pump that is.

    Now it could be because I've done the work I'm listening too much and this is normal. The car drives fine no problems under a heavy load and fine to the red line. Only standard software till I get my downpipe fitted.

    Did anyone else think theirs sounded louder? When the engines running if you put your ear to it you can hear the metallic sound of the piston really loudly.

    I'd say mine is but I can't hear it above the induction kit

    Good little thread, ill have to remember this when I fit mine in the coming months.

    Looks a relatively easy job just requires a clean atmosphere to work in. Got any tips on fitting it?

    Tips for fitting: Remember which way every little bit came out. Take a few pics or video as you do it, wish I would of! Lol

    Or don't do the whole clean just remove the spring, 18mm nut and swap the piston, put back together job done, glad I cleaned mine out but to do it again it would be the easy way

    Thanks for that!

    Only thing not clear is the collets but I presume when stripping the old internals down its apparant?

    Just follow the destructions,do it in a clean room/sterile area and always use gloves and alcohol based cleaner,you don't want any contaminant's.

    Make sure you do your research and see as many how to's you can, the autotech instructions for the rebuild has no pictures and basically says put it back together like this and it can be a tad confusing which way round parts go

    No I'm more than comfortable doing it, in a engineer so shouldn't be anything I've not seen or done before its just i take more care in my car than work

    I enjoy giving myself challenges that im more than likely to **** up, so rebuilding a HPFP should be fine. Yea, it'll be fine.

    I can recall thinking mine was louder when I fitted the uprated pump. The uprated pumps require more force to operate so it would make sense for the operating noise to increase from OEM.

    It is a relief to hear this! When I first started it up I was trying to think what I could of done wrong. I was close to stripping it down until I went out an it drove ok so thought I'd check on here.

    Can't wait to get the 2+ software loaded!
