    HELP!! Revving S3

    Hi guys,

Ive got an 08 plate S3 with 43.5k miles, on the drive into work this morning the engine is revving itself it goes up to 1.5 - 2k every minut or so when the car is in neutral. Also the rev needle is irratic keeps moving on tick over. Never had this before has anyone had such a problem before?

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks.

These tend to be caused by a vacuum leak.

It won't be a vacuum , it's a very common problem and also a very easy fix , £50 ish parts and very easy to fix your self. It will more than likely be the pressure relief valve I think it's call and seal.
    Problems :( Irratic idle issues

Thanks mate, well I took it down to my local Audi "specialist" and on the diagnostics machine its coming up with the following faults - thees a misfire on all cylinders and there is air leak somewhere and something about the throttle body. Sorry for the vagueness but thats all I got from them.

Any clues as to what this could be before they fleece me??

Have a read of the thread I linked and its worth replacing the parts mentions as will probably cost you less than getting audi to scan your car and could very possible fix the problem.
