    What should the BTDC be ona bkd?

    In the wngine measuring blocks i think its either 15-4-5?! One of those it says BTDC mine says 0.0 BTDC is that okay? Its winding over longer before it starts and it starts with abit of a miss for a couple of seconds!

    When warming up from stone cold (under 50C) injection will be around 1-2 degrees BTDC, this then retards as the car heats up to around 4-5 degrees ATDC.
    TDI PD170 S-Line Sportback... 191.2bhp & 290lb/ft torque @ standard with an iffy turbo! No idea with the new one or Shark Stage 1 remap installed, DPF off Stage 1 ready to go, Suspension & wheels to be fitted!

    Mine stays at 0.0 BTDC. How is this ajusted? Mt torsion value in on 0.5 ant idle consumpion is 0.4-0.6 l/h.

    What group are you getting your readings from in VCDS?

    There's a whole host of thing that will affect this figure, rpm, temp, fuel quality etc as the ECU will constantly be adjusting though the warm up phase. One thing you definately dont want is a figure in BTDC when warmed up as its runs the risk of pushing the crank rotation in the wrong direction!

    I think its group 4 or could be 5 or 15. Ha, i have droped the idle speed to 819 rpm to cure the rough idle would this be why its taking longer to crank into life?
