Afternoon,
I have an Audi A3 Quattro sportback 2.0l turbo and it has developed a âwobbleâ which I believe is coming from the back end, the best way of describing it is that it feels like there is a gust of wind blowing the car every so often. I have had it looked at in the recent past and it looks as though there may be something wrong with the 4 wheel drive system as the mechanic says he thinks one of the wheels is moving independently from the others? he also tried to re track the car after two front wheel bearing and he says he couldnt get it close as the back end was out from the front ? 8 or 12mm difference i think he said?
Couple of questions im hoping someone may be able to help me with is :
1. Has anyone heard of this before ? and what should i be looking at fixing ?
2. Is it dangerous ? it seems pretty stable and the mechanic hasnt told me to stop driving it ...
3. if it is the transfer box bearing as he says is a pure guess how much am i looking at forking out? as im in the middle of buying a house so funds are low at moment.
Audi are quoting £113 for the diagnostics is there any cheaper options out there that people know and trust in the sheffield area?
thanks for any replies in advance
