And guess what - the creaking steering noise is all gone!!!!

They couldn't find fault with the aircon though (It's not cold when the weather is warm) but then i didnt expect them to.

All in all, excellent service from Aylesbury Audi again - thoroughly recommended as a dealer. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beerchug.gif

Audi know sweet FA about aircon. Take it to an A/C specialist, get them to find the fault then take it to Audi and point them in the right direction.

I'm going to wait till summer - I dont need aircon now, and TBH I don't use it much in summer either.... It's obvious its not working properly when the weather is warm, but the air is cold now anyway before its cooled.

I'd have to pay for it myself if I take it anywhere other than Audi so I'll wait...

As I said get the specialist to find the fault then take it back to Audi to fix it.
Climate control should be used all the time whether it is hot or cold, otherwise some of the rubber/plastic parts will perish.
Can't believe you hardly use it, mines on practically all the time in summer.

It does get used in summer, and I do have it on in winter, but as you say only to stop components screwing up.

To be honest, I'm too tight to have it on all the time in summer... got to keep the mpg up, lol

plus, it didnt work very well so took ages to cool the car down anyway, and I am a sucker for opening all the windows anyway.....

You froogle TDi owners, you pay extra for an armrest then worry what the extra weight will do to your mpg.
I had to retrofit a leather interior to my A4 Avant as I couldn't find a TDi (in a sensible colour)with leather anywhere, cause tightarsed diesel buyers won't fork out the £1100 for the option. Either that or they don't want leather as they know they'll have to use the aircon to cool it down in the summer.
Isn't half price motoring enough of a saving?
