Seat airbag worry, undoing one of the seat runners

I managed to drop something down the side of my seat, it made its way through the smallest gap in the carpet underneath the seat runner

I need to basically undo the seat runner just to give me enough room to get a finger or two into the gap in the carpet, I know its always wise to disconnect the airbag, but is it a faff disconnecting cables and the battery terminal and having to reset it all again, OR will I actually be able to do this without disconnecting anything, and without setting off the airbag, obviousy?

any help is appreciated!!

Disconnect battery, unbolt 4 spline bolts, unclip airbag etc looms & away you go, then in reverse.

so if I was to leave it all connected up I definitely run the risk of deploying the airbag no matter how careful I am with the seat runner?

its only one side I need to get at you see

Just follow the advice given, its your easiest/best option.

on reconnecting the battery, do certain things need resetting?

Just drive up the road & cluster lights should distinguish, windows may decide to need auto close/open resetting, but should be fine.

Take the advice from NHN! He knows his stuff.

I took both my seats out with battery still connected then moved the car, looks like I missed a bullet haha
