    Spark Plugs

    Hello All,

I'm about to map my '05 A3 2.0 TFSI Quattro - 68K - and wondered if anyone could give me any advice on spark plugs.

I've changed the DV to the uprated piston type and have an ITG panel filter in but am a bit unsure of which plugs I should use for a stage 1 map? Is replacing the coil packs a good idea too?

Any advice would be most appreciated.

    Sam

Just put standard plugs in it and if its running fine there should be no need to replace the Coil packs mate

As above...current advice is to use stock plugs, but change more often than the Audi service schedule, and certainly if you get any misfires.

    Perfect, thanks.
I don't suppose you know the plug number off the top of your heads?

I tried running some super cool ones or some rubbish that I bought from a tuning site and they lasted only a few thousand miles. Started with the odd misfire and it got steadily worse.

I went into Audi and had a chat with the parts guy, the OEM ones are actually one of two brands. The ones I got were NGK PFR7S8EG.

They've lasted for so long that I can't remember when I got them. Well over a year ago anyway.
