    vcds Scan result

    Hi

    Coming home from a trip away i suddenly lost power so a great Audi sport.net member met me today and carried out a scan he is the result,having found the code number on ross teck wiki it says that check hoses pipes,turbo charger /diverter valve and special notes say when found in 2.0 tfsi check boost pressure control valve(N249)FOR CRACKED RUBBER DIAPHRAM.
    How much will this cost to sort out?

    All advice much appreciated!!

    Well, do you have a 2.0tfsi or not?

    The N249 is fitted to the turbocharger compressor housing. It is held in with 3 allen head bolts (can't remember what size (5/6mm springs to mind)) The earlier type N249 valve had a rubber diaphragm and is prone to splitting, as the Ross-tech fault code description eludes to, when they get some age on them.

    The valve has been revised and now uses a piston type design which has proven to be more reliable. Couldn't say on price though bud.

    On the 2.0TFSi engines, it has been known for the PCV valve to fail which in turn causes a boost leak etc.

    Regardless of engine, you should check all boost pipe work for signs of leakage. Usually signs of oil around a joint is an indicator of a leak.

    Going on the Nav fault codes, you have a RNSE fitted? If yes, it hasn't been coded to the car correctly/at all. Will require coding via VCDS.

    Hi Lewis

    Yes has a 2005 55 plate 2.0 tfsi S-line mileage now 51940 FSH and yes do have RNSE it was fitted at factory according the the handbook/Bill for car.

    RNSE was fitted from factory, but it could well at some point had that RNSE stolen/broken and replaced with another that wasn't coded to the vehicle.

    Start by checking boost pipe work for leaks then mate. If they look good, then I would remove the N249 valve and check the diaphragm.
