Hello all, I've just been to look at an Audi A3 2 T FSI Quattro and all looked pretty good, 2005 with 68k on the clock, had very good service history all done at an Audi specialist and had the cambelt done a year ago. When inspecting the engine I noticed a yellow/mayo type of 'sludge' in and around the oil cap. I've read in a few places that this could be a head gasket issue or condensation mixture as the guy said he hardly ever uses the car since he has a works van. The guy seemed very genuine about all the marks and the previous problems he has had with the car without me even asking.

I would just like to know whether it's a 'common problem' with this type of car and nothing to worry about or whether I should bite the bullet and find another one.
Thanks
Ryan

Condensation in the oil from short trips in cold\damp weather can cause mayo! So it might gel with what he said about hardly using it. If thats the case, It should clear up after a good long run.
