My a3 is due a service and is due and DSG oil change.

From what I have read the DSG oil and filter should be changed.

I was thinking about getting the DSG change done at audi or VAG specialist as it really needs to be done correctly.

Then I was looking at getting the service done independently. Is the filter that is changed with the DSG the same filter that would be changed on a service? My point being that obviously there is no point getting two new filters within the space of a week or so.

When you ask for a full DSG service, it is wise to specify that you want both the oil and the filter changed at the same time. Some garages may short-change the customer by not changing the filter. Not a good idea. Insist that it is done properly and ask to see the old filter before you pay the bill. The filter fitted should be a genuine VAG part, but if you are worried, ask to see the packaging of the new filter so you can go check the part number.

We did a complete full service with fuel filter & full dsg service for client at his home recently when I was doing the technology work, colleagues an audi master tech, I can ask him if he's up for doing another if of interest, used all genuine audi parts, little cheaper than audi & believe me he's anal about his work too lol, if interested PM me.

I paid warrington audi 179 and got a car for the day too, which for a few quid more than an indi ( awesome) that's what I opted for as I needed a car and was busy weekends
