Strange Idle/Rough - Intermittent

Hi,

help and advice please folks??

I have an Audi a3 3.2 v6.

Following various vagcom scans, I replaced the MAF for a genuine Bosch air flow meter after some intermittent running problems.

Now, when I'm driving it usually only when it's warm, I come to a stop and the revs take a couple of seconds to drop down to its idle point, making pulling away uncomfortable/difficult.

I had an episode last week where I would start it up and it would die immediately unless it had revs!!
This problem stopped, I am sure it is related.

Car is still drive able, but not enjoyable.

What does this sound like???

Try a throttle body reset with vagcom

is it possible to adjust idle on these engines?

Think you can adjust the idle don't know how mine idles at around 640rpm I had a rough idle before I had the audi software update however I still don't think my car idles perfect I take it no codes were logged and the basics are ok like fuel and air filters throttle body alignment is probably not a bad first point of action though along with a clean in case it's sticky

Throttle body being cleaned out tomorrow morning.
Presumably the garage will reset the TB using vagcom after??

its easy to do it you self I think if you disconnect the battery for a while then reconnect it and turn your ignition on the car will align its self only take a minute you will hear the high pitch noise

Don't always presume the garage will do that.

And to adjust idle on my TDI is as follows..

Ignition on - engine off

Select Engine controller 01
Select Measuring blocks 08
Select 'Go' in Group 1
Start Engine ( you may be able to start engine earlier but I don't )
Hit 'Turbo' button at top of page
Select 'Done'
Select Adaptation - 10
Change channel to 06 and hit 'Read'

However maybe slightly different for you.

Also, what fuel are you using? This has been a known problem for cheap fuel.
