A3 sportback front speaker depth.

Hi,

I am going to upgrade my speakers in my 2005 sportback. What is the max depth that can be fitted? Are there any implications when fitting? And I am looking for a pair of jl audio tr650cx1. Would these fit in ok? I will make my own mdf adaptors to suit.

Amount of space behind them is huge dude, iirc I sandwiched 2x18mm and a 6mm thick mdf to make the spacers
 
Thankyou for the reply. Thats good, I remember seeing a metal bar through the speaker hole, is this the only thing to worry about? Does the window intrude? Also does water have any chance of getting into that void?
