When I bought my A3 a couple of months ago it only had one key. So I purchased a second hand one from eBay for £24 (exact same part number just to be safe) and I also bought the transponder for £7 on eBay, and the blade for £9.
I sent the first fob back as whatever I tried would not work - now the exact same thing is going on with the replacement I've been sent.
Has anyone had any experience of programming a used fob? I know it can be done yourself somehow. I've tried various methods from online - all to do with putting the working key in ignition, then new key in door and pressing buttons etc. No lights flash, nor does the horn sound so I'm getting pretty annoyed with it now.
Does anyone have any idea about this? Whole idea of buying myself is so I could avoid the £190 quote from Audi to do the entire job.
Thanks!! 54 reg A3 2.0 TDi Sport.
