engine problem s3 2012

Where to start , right been running stage 1 shark for around 4 months no problems at all then added the Amd cai kit and a week later i get the emissions light on !!!!!! Flashed the ecu back to standard as didnt want to be putting added stress on any parts

So called audi assist the boy plugged in his computer and said it was running lean and recommended an hpfp so ordered one and fitted it this week along with a cam follower since i was removing the pump anyway and then flashed back to stage 1 after going for a test drive and then checking everything was fine , so all was good pulling like a train and running fine then emissions light comes on again arggghhhh.

Now was wandering if anyone had any ideas what could be causing it ???

Could it be that the car was mapped when standard and now having added the hpfp and cai be causing the map to run lean and need adjusted to suit the mods added ?????

Any help suggestions appreciated

Need to get it scanned to find the fault code first, know anyone with a VAGCOM?

If it's running lean it could be the hpfp.

Ok will get it checked and see, fingers crossed its something simple like a pipe leaking .

Check the MAF sensor as it could have been damaged when fitting the intake.

It's unlikely you will have an issue with the HPFP on a 2012 car.

If the CAI has an oiled filter, chances are that's your problem. The oil from the filter will slowly coat the MAF & cause all kinds of incorrect readings.

The flash back to standard MAP & then return to the remap will have delayed the ECU in flagging any problems as the car will still have been in an 'adjustment period'.

A quick scan on VCDS or the dealer system should easily be able tell you if the MAF is providing a correct reading or not.

AFAIK,the filter is not oiled.....what you need to do is to take it back to whoever fitted it,and get them to sort it.

It really needs to be taken to either whoever did the work or a decent tuner and logged to find what the problem is.

If its running lean there is a serious problem.
