    HPFP cam follower

Ok I've read all the guides I can find over the past week and thought I'd try to change my cam follower myself as everybody I've asked knew nothing of it. It arrived today and I thought I'd give it ago, it was 6pm when I started so was losing light fast. Took my 20 minutes just to get engine cover off ha, anyway got it off and got the two clips off. Went to release the fuel pressure but there was no bleed valve and on the guides there was 2 pipes - 1 rubber and 1 metal. Both mine are metal, started to look complicated and was getting dark so put it back together and will try tomorrow. Is there anybody in or around the Bolton area that wants to do it and show me? I'll provide beer tokens, thanks

The fuel pipe may be attached by a standard flared nut or Banjo bolt. If's it the latter then you need the right size spline drive. Even then it's a bummer to do, cause access not easy. Apart from this, the job is easy peasy!!!
Be very careful not to break the connector on top of the HPFP....

Looks like you got the older type. You can either unscrew the banjo bolt on the pump and 17mm spanner on the other pipe or you can remove the pipe from the pressure relief valve. Id get it down to someone who knows or you can start rounding bolts and have fuel leaking.

That's the thing, nobody knows. When I ask them they don't have a clue, even when I rang Audis parts department to order it they said it sits in the fuel tank so I'd have to take it to them as its a specialist job. The guides look easy, mines different from the ones on there. No where is open either now till Tuesday, I'm hoping a kind forum member nearby will do it haha

Awesome can't do it till the 9th of April, I'm working away from Tuesday so won't be home for a while. Don't think I'm going to find anybody to do it this weekend. They quoted £66 for an hours labour to do it as I already have the follower
