Desperately need new tyres. What's the best?

I recently opened a thread myself and also have been searching on tyres as I'm changing mine for my new 8J 18" s line alloys
According to everybody's rate and review and to my own search apparently Michelin PS3 are the best as they last into 30/35,000 miles.
I also have read that stretched tyres or lower profile such as 35 don't last as long. Don't take my word though.

I own an A3 2.0TDi 140 S-Line Quattro and stick Hankook Ventus V12 Evo's on them and they are great bit of rubber. Last long and grib very well in the wet. There around a ton a corner but well worth the cost. I had them on my old A6 3.0TDi quattro as well. Very quiet as well, which is nice.
