Are they a direct fit?
Do you have a link to that forum?

I'm sure that can be fixed.
I'm more interested in how the back of the headlights fits. If the bolt holes align or if it is a complete hack job. Hope not...

you can see it angled up here:

that being said the fact that this is on a prefacelift S3 and you can see how it follows the line of the bumper and wing... very possibly do-able. though you would probably have to replace the ballasts with ones from the A3/S3 so that the car can talk to it properly.

Does that mean it will fit my non s line bumper?

ahh ok so having just brushed up on my Polish skills i can see how he did it... so a full headlight transplant with the internals of the A5 lights into the housing of the A3 but with some extra filling and sanding to fill up the extra area within the A3 light... then the addition of electrics to get the lights to work with the OEM A3 harness. the other thing is that the guy originally had halogen headlights so he did a 'bi-xenon' hack which he could have avoided if he just did a bi-xenon wire and coding upgrade so that the car would talk to the headlights without so many electric bits.

here is what the headlights itself looks like after the transplant:

Overall damn good job!

i think i prefer the A4 B8 conversion that someone did.

DIY difficulty rating?

Very difficult! considering he totally dismantled 4 units and then moved the A5s across and rebuilt it back up without damaging anything then added to the headlight and also the wiring involved. not something i would attempt

same here, looks much better
