What is the best way to get rid of SMOKING smell in car?

    Hi,
So my car is a month old and i purchased it from a smoker.
He used to smoke with his windows open but the smell is still there.
I went to a detailing workshop and they tried their best but there is still some smell left.
Everytime i leave the car for a few hours and come back, when i open the door its like death...
when i start the engine and open the windows its gone.
    I need a permanent solution.
    Can someone help?
    thanks

Don't forget to spray the headlining, just go in there with a new bottle of fabreeze and don't come out until its empty and everything is sprayed. I hate the smell of smoke so I could only imagine how annoying it is every time you get in your benson and hedges, i mean pride and joy...

Put a couple of open pots with vinegar in around the car over night for a few days and this absorbs the smell.. Does make the car smell of vinegar for a few weeks but its better than smoke..

Had this problem with my previous car and tried every thing from coffee granules and white vinegar but didn't really work, then I got a odour bomb off eBay and it has been a permantly fix, it's been about 8months since I done it and still no smell of smoke

If that doesnt work, then carpet & headlining out & give the a proper wash, if doesnt fix then swap these bits for used or new.

haha not even close at the slightest. Hope you get it sorted, the bombs sound like they will do the job.

If you have access to a wet shampoo vacuum cleaner I'd give that a go on the carpets, seats and rooflining (if possible). When using the odour bomb probably a good idea to have the internal only air recirculation on so that it's pulled through the vents too. I'd also replace the pollen filter up behind the glove box too.

Good luck! Horrible having a smokers car, yuk.

I've used an odour bomb before worked a treat. Can buy them to clean your aircon system at the same time.

This stuff has been a regular in my wash kit for ages now. I spray headlining and carpets and it keeps the S3 smelling fresh as a daisy.
