Question about the ITG CAI iv fitted

Hi everyone I have recently fitted a ITG CAI to my S3 and the one bit the has stumped me is the heat shield part my friend was adamant the metal part faced the engine not the filter and I thought the metal part faced the filter. Also it was a bit of a pig to get that heat shield fitted in there snug. Has anyone got some photos of the ITG with the heat shield on so I can take a close look?

also I was wondering if the new revo heat shield would fit instead as its a nicer looking heat shield?

I now run without the heat shield.

any difference? i thought running it during the winter without heat shield, but never really bothered removing it.
i'm thinking of making custom shield/air feed...
 
Just keep it on ,i was told to take my off ,and it just got in my way in the house lol
 
hahaha...know what are you talking about...got car parts everywhere... :D
 
I kept mine off for about a year and half and never put it back on ..
 
My heatshield is sat on the TV stand. Been there a year now!
