door lights

hi i have a 2005 A3 1.6 fsi sport and I've noticed that there's 2 red lights on the inside of the door like a marker light but they don't seem to come on when you open the door. just wanted to know whether these are actually suppose to be working or whether they come fitted as standard but with no bulbs.

Buttons are to disable tilt sensor & interior monitoring sensor.

no i've got them they work, there's like a rectangle red light to warn people the door is open but they have never worked since i got the car and didn't know whether they were suppose to.

Thats because your car didnt come with them spec'd, can be fitted, same as puddle lights on bottom of doors.

what do i need to do? because there already there is it a case of removing them and putting a bulb in and they'll work?

They're not actually there, they're just a reflector insert, nothing is behind them, needs a new part & looms.
