It's an option called through load for skis ect

As said its an option with the ski hatch, for some reason the through load is a default option with buckets too.

Thanks for the reply guys its just a bit sad because at the back you don't get any door bins, no armrest, or any storage pockets at the back of the seats. this should have been standard but instead its options. other cheap and basic cars comes with all this stuff.

Its an Audi, everything is an optional extra. Its very poor really for the cost what standard equipment you don't get.

Yeah am also looking at the GTi Edition 35 and it offers everything the only options are the sat nav and parking aids and all the other nifty gadgets and all. BUT i want the S3 SO am gna have to ditch all that lol When i test drove one i felt in love with it. am getting qutoes like 1000 for my insurance so soon am purchasing my s3
